An offshoot of Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope, ZAP is a new company launched and owned by Zoetrope's former Head of Post Production and long-time Coppola collaborator, Kim Aubry. At the beginning of 2005, ZAP took over American Zoetrope's in-progress work and clients and embarked on its own new projects. ZAP creates high quality original content for DVD, and part of that process includes restoration of film sound and image for the digital medium. ZAP continues to provide top quality final DVD mastering services for the major studios and independent filmmakers. ZAP is located in the same facility as the original Zoetrope post facility in San Francisco's North Beach.
